30 Posts on Truth--Post 6

Let's get to know one another. Here is the reference for this project, it also lists all the future posts!

Day 06 → Something you hope you never have to do.

This is an easy one, I hope to never bury my spouse. I've seen too many marriages broken up by an untimely and early death of a husband or wife. It is terrible if you are young and newly married and I feel it is equally tragic when you've been married for 65 years. I've seen both in my line of work and they are just so heartbreaking. I think it got 100 x's worse for me after marrying my wonderful hubby.

You spend your life searching for your person, your soul mate and you find it--I feel like we should all die at 100 holding the hand of our spouse. Wouldn't that be picture perfect? (Go figure, it was in the movie The Notebook.)

Ugh I totally feel you on this, one of my biggest fears is losing my husband especially at a young age. Can't even imagine. Though honestly I think burying a child would be far worse, that's my biggest fear.

This is one that I am terrified of as well. Right behind burying one of my children as I don't think any parent should outlive their kids.

Heartbreaking to think of either.

I can't imagine going through that. A family from church son died in november and his wife blogs about how much it sucks and stuff. My heart breaks when reading her posts.

Perfect answer. I couldn't agree more. I'm amazed by the strength of those who have been widowed... I feel like it would ruin me.
