Letters to our Sons: April

My Dearest Baby,
You are double digits and I cannot believe it! 10 months, how did that happen?!? Just yesterday you were growing in my belly and now you are 10 months.
You make being your mommy the best thing ever. I spend every day with you and love every minute of it. We sing songs, read books and have the best time playing. This month you learned how to feed yourself, it isn't the most graceful thing to watch, we are still working on that dexterity thing, but if you want to eat it--you make it work! We put a few pieces of food on your plate and you proceed to grab it all into your little fist and aim for your mouth. Generally if you have 5 pieces in your hand you'll get one or two pieces in your mouth. It's very cute! We recently bought you a little pool and if it were up to you all day would be spent in it. Being unhappy is nearly impossible around you because you are sunshine. I hope you continue to be that happy forever and always.
Continue to grow and thrive because the world is yours for the taking little boy. Whatever you decide to be when you grow up we will support you, all we ask is that you continue to be a good person.
You are my beautiful baby, continue to grow big and strong, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.
I love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

Letters to our Sons: March

Seventeen women all with two things in common, sons and a love of photography have decided to participate in this "Letters to our Sons" circle.  At the end of my letter you will see a link to another blog.  I invite you to click on the link and continue reading the blogs until you complete the circle.

My Dearest Baby,
You are now 9 months old—I cannot believe it. You are getting more fun with each day.

When I was growing up everyone told me to take my time starting a family because everything is harder with a baby, they were 100% right. You and I went and had lunch last week and I spent more time feeding you and intermittently scarfing my few bites, I used to enjoy eating now it’s just means to nourishment. You are up bright and early everyday and ready to get going (I am not nearly as bright and happy as you are). I would kill for a bit more sleep. With all that being said, with life having been so much easier 2 years ago, now I have a life worth living. I have purpose everyday because of you, you are my little man, my sunshine and my baby.

As you grow up, remember to take time to enjoy the little things in life because those things truly are the big things.

You are my beautiful baby, continue to grow big and strong, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.
I love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

Letters to our Sons: February

Seventeen women all with two things in common, sons and a love of photography have decided to participate in this "Letters to our Sons" circle.  At the end of my letter you will see a link to another blog.  I invite you to click on the link and continue reading the blogs until you complete the circle.

My Dearest Baby,
You are now eight months old—slow down little boy, slow down! As much as I want you to slow down you get more fun each day.
You are always thrilled to see both Daddy and I when we come home from work and seeing you get so excited melts our hearts. I feel like I was put on this earth to be your Mommy and each day I get more and more confident in that.
This month you are not doing too many more tricks than last month, you are officially in the potted plant stage of your life. I put you down somewhere and when I come back that is exactly where you are—it’s great. Now you aren’t very trilled to be put down, and by not very trilled I mean you go into hysterics if gosh forbid I put you down and need to walk into the kitchen or dare I say it the other room to get something.
Your two favorite things to do in the world to do is to snuggle and to eat, separately or together. You are eating big people food, you love black beans, garbanzo beans, bananas, pears and blueberries (vegetables not so much—shhh…don’t tell anyone Daddy and I favor fruits also)! You are still nursing like a champ and I LOVE it, it is our time together. Some afternoons if you do not want to nap in your crib I’ll scoop you out and we snuggle in the big bed together, occasionally you’ll pop your head up and look around and I’ll say “no way little man, lay back down,” and you plop your head back down on my chest. You’re the best.
You are my beautiful baby, continue to grow big and strong, Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.
I love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

Letters to our Sons: January

Seventeen women all with two things in common, sons and a love of photography have decided to participate in this "Letters to our Sons" circle.  At the end of my letter you will see a link to another blog.  I invite you to click on the link and continue reading the blogs until you complete the circle.
My Dearest Baby,

It is hard to believe you are already seven months old—just saying that makes my heart both burst with joy and cry in disbelief at the same time. It feels like just yesterday we were navigating through the torrential down pour to bring you home for the very first time and in the same breath, it feels like you have been in my life forever.

You are my pride and joy, I stare at you and I cannot believe that you are mine—you are half Daddy and half me.

This month has been huge as far as your development, or as your Meemaw calls them, your new tricks! You are a jumping fool—anything that can be jumped on or in is what you are doing (my belly, Daddy’s chest, your exersaucer, your jumper, when we stand you on anything, it’s clearly for you to be jumping), you are sitting up and playing, rolling back and forth, petting the puppies and the kitties, eating food and my favorite when I snuggle you, you rub my face—it’s as though you are saying “Hi Mommy, I love you.”

Your laugh is infectious; I cannot help but smile when I hear you giggle. When Daddy is playing with you and I overhear your belly laugh my heart swells with joy.

There is so much I want to show and teach you, I want to make sure your life is filled with as much happiness as you bring to mine. I want to teach you to love and be loved, I want you to seek joy in everyday, and I want you to be a life long learner.

Continue to grow big and strong my beautiful boy but always remember no matter how big you grow to be you are always my baby.

I love you to the moon and back,

Mommy
