A change...again!

You must all think I am nuts for changing our plans over and over again. Hell, I think I am a bit nuts but that's ok.

So last I posted we were planning on getting preggo in the next few months and I was stoked--well...my parents came into town and we all talked about it and our plans have changed. Phillip had originally said that he would wait a few years if it were up to him but if having a baby would make me happy then he was on board with that. With that being said, I thought about it and I didn't want him to resent me for making the decision to have the baby, which he promised he wouldn't. But it got me thinking that his Dad died before he got to retire, his Mom and Dad didn't get to do half the things they had planned together, wouldn't that suck? Well we are going to fix that, we are going to wait two/three years and spend it together just as hubby and wife.

I had a really tough time making the decision but then on Saturday morning, my alarm went off to head to work, I hit snoozed and snuggled up with my hubby for another 20 minutes. It dawned on me while I was doing this that if we had a little baby I couldn't do this. I would need to get up and feed the baby before work, we just wouldn't have this time for just the two of us anymore that made me sad. It did help me make that decision though. We've decided to do some traveling while we're waiting. Here are our game plans:

2011--Costa Rica in August/September then Savannah in October, and a surprise in December.
2012--Washington DC in April, Omaha in June, Italy/Greece in September.
2013--Still working on trip plans for then.

So there you have it guys, our plans have changed....again. Who knows, maybe they'll change again, these are tough decisions. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful forth of July, I'll leave you with some pics from a few years ago:

The great thing about plans is that they are changeable! You guys have some great trips planned. You have some great shots of fireworks...did you take them?

I came by from the comment challenge:)

even though 3 three years is along time, it will fly by. I love the waiting just to spend time with the hubs. Your right, you can't do those little things like sleeping in or taking a few trips a year with kids (school age) I just like it!

Your plans sound amazing!! I have a little girl and it was the opposite with us... my husband was ready way before me and I think we're both glad we waited!

I'm glad you guys are on the same page with the baby plans and I can definitely understand wanting to wait. Since I'm already 31 I didn't feel like we had that extra time to really wait before trying, since we had no way of knowing how quickly or slowly it would take to get pregnant. I still hope to travel with just my husband...that's why there are grandparents...to babysit. haha!

Over from Jenna's... Your blog is so cute! Also, your plans sound great! As a mommy to a 9 month-old, there are some days were I wish I could snuggle a little longer with my hubby in bed! :) I wouldn't trade her for the world, though!

I don't necessarily want children myself, but my hubby and I talk about it a lot and as much as he wants a baby, we decided like you guys did: spending time as just hubby and wifey is priceless and irreplaceable. Hopefully it will fly by... sounds like you have some great plans! :)

I started trying to get pregnant as soon as we got married (I was 30, I felt like the clock was ticking). Now that I have my two babies, I sometimes wish we had waited a year or two, so we could go on a few exotic and romantic trips! That being said, we still make time for just us, even if it's just for five minutes while the kids are brushing their teeth!
