Today I feel compelled to write about celebrating. I think celebrating is important, that is both the small and large things in life. Celebrating means living and being thankful for the daily accomplishments in your life. There are so many things to celebrate--the small things, such as today being hump day, the week is more than half over or the big things like birthdays and anniversaries.
These thoughts are stemming from work. I know I've talked before about my job and how it is constantly shaping my views on life, I know that I get too emotional attached to my patients and you know what? That's ok with me, I may get too close to them but I feel like I am better able to care for people when I'm too close. My past two teams all but one of my patients have been younger than my parents, all diagnosed with cancer. Boo hiss to the "C" word.
Anyways, back to my little celebrating tangent. Talking with my patients, I have never heard any of them say "damn, I wish I didn't celebrate more." I really don't know much more to say other than I think we need to celebrate life.
