24 weeks! March 18, 2012

24 Weeks (March 18, 2012)
Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 24 Weeks

Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a large ear of corn. He a bit bigger then a good in length and is about 1.25 lbs (though I'm thinking our little man is probably a bit larger).

How your baby's growing:
He cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've gained 20 lbs, as of my OB appt four weeks ago. I am scared to death to step on the scale tomorrow morning at the the MD's office. :(

Maternity Clothes: All maternity clothing with the exception to some sweat pants and hubby's clothing, lol.

Gender: Boy!!! Colin Wilson.

Movement: Yep, quite a bit lately. I love knowing it's him--I feel like he just checks in to say hey! Phillip actually got to feel him move for the first time this morning, it was pretty good.

What I miss: Moving better. I feel huge.

Sleep: Ok, I've actually been sleeping better, not getting up quite as much to pee which is nice.

Symptoms: I just feel big and out of shape. For someone who was so used to working out and being "fit" this is wearing on me. I wish I would have been better about staying in shape when I found out I was preggo. ;/

Cravings: Nothing per say, just hungry...sigh.

Best Moment this week: Phillip being able to feel the baby move. I've been trying to get him to feel him for the last couple of weeks but he hasn't been able too, so for him to get to today was pretty cool.

What I am looking forward to: Tomorrow's doctors appointment, I love knowing everything is going well.

Here are the pictures of little Jelly Bean and her/his incubator for the next 9 months:

Awesome, very intellectual way to express the topic.
I really appreciate your work. Quality sweat pants are always comfortable and you can wear it at any of the day.
