Tattoo

Here it is:
I really like it, I think he did a wonderful job matching the pick of the ribbon to the pinks on the flowers. I really have to study so this is all I am really going to include in this post and of course, GiST.

1. Caity is getting Lily's shots today, so I am thankful that she is doing well and growing strong.

2. Notecards, I think I did that one just the other day, but with a test tomorrow...they are oh so helpful.

3. Babysitting, I just had Jodi call me and ask me to babysit for 3 different dates, on top of the two dates at the end of June she already asked me for. I need the money and doing a few hours here and there works for me and it is just a little extra in my pocket.

4. I don't think I posted this already, but I got a scholarship. I am a recipient of the Florance Smith Nursing scholarship. I get $900 in the fall and then $900 in the spring. I am so excited! Any money that I don't have to pay back is good money. :)

5. Lastly, for my loans...fingers crossed, it will be disbursed this week. I got something in the mail saying June 3, but this week would be lovely, since my loan account is basically non existant at this moment.

Friday...I love Friday

I love love love Fridays!

I get to see Phillip on Fridays, I don't have to sit in lecture tomorrow or Sunday, Fridays are wonderful.

Ok, as far as the tattoo goes, I got rid of the sparrows even though I really like them. I went and talked to the tattoo artist, Kyle today, and we worked on what I wanted. I really just wanted something to help the fluidity of the tattoo I currently have because it is just there...all alone. He thought that adding the sparrows in would be to out of place, he advised me against it if the reason I was getting a tattoo was to help with the fluidity. He was afraid that the sparrows wouldn't fit in because they were too different. It would just look like another tattoo. Well we decided on just a design which I am getting done tonight at 2130. I really like that sparrow design, maybe I'll just catalog that for a future tattoo. :)

GiST

1. For fabulous design ideas...I am so inspired by some of these blog writers. There was an awesome entry about a wallpaper art thing, which I am going to try. That will happen after I get the barstools done...maybe Prince Phillip will go to JoAnnes with me tonight to find some fabric.

2. Rehab, we had a lecture on rehab today and I really forgot how important rehab is. It is basically what gets our patients back home. You know, we keep them alive on the floors, and then they go to the rehab centers to get rehab to live at home again.

3. Lily, this puppy has brought Caity and I so much closer together. She calls me with any questions or concerns she has, because she trusts me. I love that, I love knowing she looks up to me. :)

4. Index cards...stupid exams. We have a stupid exam on Monday, this summer semester we only have 3 grades, test 1, test 2, and test 3, that's it. Well test one is Monday and it is random as anything so thank goodness for index cards.

5. Prince Phillip, he is almost here!! Just a few more minutes and we get to spend the weekend together, yay for us! :)

Tattoo

Phillip and I are heading to the tattoo parlor tomorrow! I am adding on to my back tattoo. I currently have this:
On my lower back right in the middle and I am going to be adding this in:

The one facing right will be on the left of the ribbon and the one facing left will be on the right of the ribbon. I think it will look nice. I just think that the ribbon needs something a bit more and I like the meaning of the sparrow. Sparrows typically only mate with one other bird and stay with each other for their entire life. This is not typically of many animals and especially many other species of birds as they will more often mate with different mates. This has lead sparrows to become a symbol for loyalty. So one significant meaning behind a sparrow tattoo can be loyalty to a loved one of just loyalty in general. I like it. I think it is appropriate, I want a lifetime love, I want a lifetime of loyalty. I will definitely post some pictures when I get home tomorrow night after we enjoy pizza and then the tattoo parlor.

GiST

1. Finding a tattoo I want. I have been looking for a while to add on to my ribbon, I'm excited. I think it will be pretty.

2. Getting out of class early today. We got out at 1130 and Meghan and I went to get queso until 1230 or so and then it was nap time. It was fabulous. I love naps!

3. The old navy weekly site. I got a coupon today for 25% off my purchase. Not bad. I might be able to go get some new dresses this weekend thanks to It's Hip to Save.

4. Caity's puppy is doing well. She had a hard time sleeping last night Caity, not the puppy, well I guess the puppy also, she was up because the puppy wouldn't stop crying. Hopefully tonight she'll sleep like a good girl.

5. For Keri, I haven't talked to her in a while and we were able to get an hour on the phone together tonight. We've decided that she is going to come down here about the 8th or so of July for a bit to just hang out. It will be nice to see one another again. We haven't seen each other in (it's embarrassing) July will be a year!

Last long day

Today was our last long day of the summer classes. We were there from 0900-1530. It was pretty awful, but tomorrow we have lecture from 0900-1130 and then rehab orientation 1130-1230. Then that is it...what will I do with the whole afternoon off, I don't know, any ideas? I have been talking about taking Noodle to the beach sometime soon...maybe next Tuesday, I have Tuesday off and Super is still at Gail's maybe we'll wake up and head to the beach for the day. Perfect that sounds perfect!

Caity got home last night, well this morning at 0315...she was out for 12 hours straight, but it sounds like today went wonderful today, her first day with puppy Lily. She probably sent me a dozen pictures of her today, she's amazingly cute and Caity is such a proud mama! I am so happy for her. She really seems so excited to have her, I think this is going to be wonderful for her. I think it will enstill a sense of importance in her that I think she needs. Most of us know what it is like to have someone need us and for Caitlin this is the first time and I think it is/will be wonderful. I am trying to find a super cute present for her and baby Lily, the hunt is on. Any ideas?

I leave a week from tomorrow to go to Tennessee with Phillip and Noodle. I am so excited! I can't wait to spend that time with Phillip. I miss him so much, I can't wait to have 5 days...count them, 5 days with him, without work or responsibilities. I know we are going to be with his parents and their friends, but that is ok. I am also super excited to spend time with them, I just want to be able to see Wilson at his home in Tennesse before he passes away. This home has been his and Sherry's dream and it is very important to see him there with her...it will be special. We are also going to go on a scenic train ride, winery tour, white water rafting as well as to a Chattanooga Lookouts game. Can't wait...

GiST

1. We made it through hump day...it's almost Thursday--that means it is also Friday, which means I see Prince Phillip.

2. That being proactive is working for me. Today I got all the notecards done up today's lecture. I'll do today's and tomorrow's lectures notecards manyana.

3. That it thought about raining today...maybe tomorrow. It was cool enough though that I got to sit outside on the patio for about an hour this weekend with the Nood.

4. Lab. Lab today was great. I wasn't looking forward to going, but it was wonderful to get a big of a refresher, I needed it. We practiced, central line pushes, which was a new skill for us, but then we reviewed IV piggybacks, IV add-a-lines and then IV volutrols.

5. Animal crackers, I love them. I also bought a fabulous jar to keep them in. They look cute in it. Yum!!

Not Me Monday

Yay for the second Not Me Monday since baby Stellan returned home after his ablation surgery in Boston. Today was not the first day back for summer semester, and it definitely wasn't better then expected. Our lecture on chronic illness did not make me feel smart and most certianly did not get me excited to back into the nursing school groove. I did not go straight to home goods after school and I without question did not spend too much money on a fabulous new suitecase...nope not me, I am far too responsible to spend money on a suitecase I don't particularlly need since the one I still have is functional. Then silly me did not come home and wait until 1900 to start working on chores, nope, I definitely did not sit out on the patio with the kitties and Nood listening to the birds while avoiding what needs to be done. Well since I did not wait that late to get started, it definitely did not take me until 2200 to finish folding 6 loads of laundry (I most certainly did not put off folding laundry until it piled up and it looked as if my washer exploded on the north side of my house) and to finish "spring/summer" (we don't have spring in Florida, no that really isn't a "Not Me Monday" thing, we actually do not have spring here) of just my bedroom...not me. I am not ready to head to bed now even though I still need to comment on some of my friends blogs, not me!

GiST

1. Gail has a puppy that my sister is going to adopt, I am so excited about that. She has been looking for a puppy and Gail has a golden mix that will be 8 weeks old on Friday that Caity is heading up to pick up on Wednesday morning. I am so excited for her.

2. Gail, just in the fact that she takes care of all the critters while sacrificing herself and her needs. I know, I'm not sure how many other people know that she can't afford to do all that she does. She pays the $400 + electric bill monthly out of her own retirement money, even though it definitely isn't her useage. I know that she overdrafts her account on a far too frequent basis in order to make sure the cats and dogs are feed and vetted correctly. I really wish there was just a person who has a lot of money that they would want to donate to Animal People on a regular basis. Any takers? Let me know. :)

3. That Phillip arrived back in Florida without any issues. He and Alisha had an uneventful plane ride and he got home, ate some lunch and took a nap. I think he had a good vacation with his family. I know that it was hard on him celebrating Jessica's birthday because it had him wondering if his Dad will be around in September for his quarter century of excellence celebration. I guess we'll just see, who knows?!?

4. Nood, I love my Noody bear. I got him the cutest rain vest today to take with us to Tennessee, it fits perfectly is even in his color (bright blue). It looked adorable on him, I will make a note to take a picture of him and get it posted soon.

5. Motivation, I am finally motivated again to do a bunch of things. I was motivated to get all that laundry folded and I am motivated to get to the BOL tomorrow morning to get the PICC notes printed and the ones I took transcribed. I am also motivated to get notecards started tomorrow morning. I will try to remember to bring them with to get them done tomorrow during breaks.

Mother's Day!

It's Mommy's Day, happy mother's day to all you mommies out there. Being a mother probably the hardest and most rewarding job out there, clearly it isn't something I know personally (well after this last week it has been pretty personal), but it is something I know from looking around and well of course having a Mama on my own! I have all my fur kids besides we well except my Super who I will get back at sometime this week. I love being home in my bed. I love being in my home.

I start back in classes tomorrow...I'm trying to stay positive, but I just came down with Strep which sucks! Luckily my wonderful friend Meghan is bringing my some Amoxicillin tomorrow which is wonderful. Hopefully by Tuesday I'll be feeling better, though I would love to feel better tomorrow. It is that pain that when just swallowing your spit makes your eyes water. I hate it! This is my second time coming down with strep in 3 months! How is that even possible?!?

Well wrapping up this weekend was pretty terrible. I didn't get paid what I thought I would which really sucks. Don't get me wrong, it is more then I've had in my account, but I am sure everyone can understand what it is like to expect something and be disappointed. I made the mistake of counting my chickens before they hatched and in turn was disappointed. I really wanted to buy Phillip that Mac mini, clearly that is something I wont be able to do now since I have much less then I though. Blah, blah, blah, I'll spare you all the boring details, it just turned from what I was expecting to be a fabulous evening into a quite sucky one.

Now with all that negativity, let's hope into:

GiST

1. My mommy and all the other mommies out there. I am so thankful I grew up with such a wonderful role model as both as mother, wife and friend. Thanks mom!

2. Drugs, I cannot wait to get some Amoxicillin on board tomorrow...YES!

3. To be home in my own bed with my kitties. I am sure my babies have missed me, because in the 11 nights, I have been home in my bed 1 night!! Can you believe it?!? Now I feel like a terrible furmama.

4. An apparent cold front, I would love some relief from this unbearable 92* heat. I would kill for some thunderstorms, fingers crossed they will blow in soon.

5. ...is it bad that I can't think of a fifth thing to be grateful for?!? Probably. Did I mention I had a really crappy evening?!? Crap! I'll go with my Mom again, I'm extra grateful for her today, I'm allowed to be it's mother's day!

Saturdays

I love Saturdays. I feel like so much can get done on Sundays, because you usually have no responsibilities (work wise) and it also isn't the end of the weekend. Today we had a bunch to do. The boys slept in because I asked them to stay in their room until I got them up and then we had breakfast...soccer game...played Indiana Jones...birthday party...nap!

Here are some pictures from Coop's soccer this morning. My little rock star scored 3 goals today, he is also super fast. He got his trophy today! This was something he was super excited about.

GiST

1. Phillip loves me...he wrote me today to tell me how much he appreciates my support, it is nice to know you are appreciated. He also wore the shirt I bought him in Nashvegas that says "Everyone loves a nurse" to the baseball game tonight--and he bought me a shirt at the Chattanooga Lookout game tonight. :)

2. The boys sleeping in. I woke up on my own about 6:45, then Cooper who came out of his room even though I told him to stay in (he had been awake for about 35 minutes at that point) to tell me "it is time to get up, the sky is blue and that means it is daytime." I got up and then got everyone else up as well.

3. Sleep, I am very sleepy now, it is almost bedtime. I am watching Nell with Jodie Foster, but I think it is going to get turned off and then I'm going to head to bed.

4. Craigslist, obviously, my first DIY project is my barstools, but I am also looking for a rocking chair. I've always wanted a really nice one and I don't care if I have to refinish it since that is the point of DIY, right?!? I've emailed a few people to inquiry about them.

5. Reading, I love to read. I finsihed one book today and am working on another one that is composed of short stories. A book like that I am able to read while in school because I can leave it down for days on end without a problem unline a normal novel.

Goodnight everyone!

Quick GiST

GiST

I am tired and it isn't even nine, but I still have to shower and have laundry to move. Here is a quick GiST tonight, because I am really trying to be good and make sure I get this done nightly.

1. That Phillip got to Tennessee safely.

2. The fabulous bargain that the woman selling the bar stools was willing to give me.

3. For Cooper, just being Cooper. He is just silly and sweet.

4. Movie/pizza night. From 4-7:30 there was movie watching and pizza eating, the only interruptions was for bath time and for the boys to say goodnight to their parents.

5. Bath time. Jackson has been pretty outrageously cranky today. I honestly have no idea why, he just has been, but I quickly bathed the big boys and then plopped him in there all by himself. I grabbed my book and sat on the bathroom floor reading while he happily played for about a half an hour. It was marvelous.

Happy weekend to everyone...Cooper's soccer and a classmates birthday party tomorrow. I'm sure it will all be quite thrilling. I will hopefully get some cute pictures of him getting his trophy tomorrow. I'll definitely post one if I do.

I'm off to dream fabulous dreams.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Isn't he lovely. :)

So, it's almost wordless Wednesday, but I wanted to include my GiST--I'll make it short since it is supposed to be wordless.

1. That face above...seriously, how could that not make you smile.

2. Cooper randomly saying "I love you" to me today while he was playing on the couch. He isn't the touchy feely one in the family so it is nice to hear that especially since I am rarely around anymore.

3. All these crafty blogs inspiring the inner DIYer in me. I want to do projects!! Yay.

4. To find the silver lining in the clouds...Robbie getting a cast today. If he didn't then we wouldn't have gotten milkshakes from Steak and Shake today and it was wonderful!

5. That I got my butt out running again. I came across something not so pleasent on the run, but we'll pretend like I didn't. Besides that though, it was great to get out and sweat again, all you athletes know what I'm talking about.

:) Good night!

Grace in Small Things

I think that this is a wonderful idea. The premise is to write down five things you are grateful for each day...I can do that! I think this will be an excellent way to keep me looking at the present instead of only the future.

#1. I am grateful for getting up at 0615, because when I took the dogs out it gave me a chance to see the sky in that color that only exists before dawn actually breaks. It is that sapphire blue, it isn't dark out but it isn't light out. It's perfect. That is probably my favorite time of day and has been since I was a camp kid! (Oh yeah, waking up at 0615 allowed me a chance to make cinnamon rolls for me and the boys, yum!)

#2. I am grateful that Jackson has stopped yelling. Apparently he thinks that if he yells he is going to get whatever he wants, oh Jackson, clearly he wasn't for warned on who was going to watch him this week, because that definitely does not work for me. After a rather loud breakfast where the boys and I were all finished before Jackson even got his fifth bite of food, he caught on that signing please was going to get him some food, not yelling at me. It is amazing how selectively my hearing can be. He's catching on and like it or not he is going to be a polite little boy when his parents come home on Sunday.

#3. I am grateful for target...who isn't. Jackson and I went there this morning and I got lots of $1 goodies for the boys, cool Lighting McQueen socks for Coop and a bug for Jackson. I also bought Robbie the book "The Giver," yesterday he told me that he didn't have any more chapter books to read, so voila, now he does.

#4. I am grateful for Mexico. Without Mexico there wouldn't be my fabulously handsome chihuahua. Roman Noodle rocks my socks and since chihuahuas are Mexican, thank you Mexico. Oh yeah, it's also Cinco de Mayo. Oh Las Margaritas sounds wonderful tonight...to bad I have to be responsible or something like that. I'll take a rain check on the margarita. I'll probably need it come Sunday.

#5. Lastly, I am grateful for Phillip. I know things have been rough between us, but fingers crossed it starts to get better. I am grateful for his constant support and the constant knowledge that someone is there. It is so hard to be success for in anything now a days and having someone who you know is there to back you up regardless if you've had a good day or a bad day is truly something to be grateful for.
